The 2012 Barlow Area Christmas in the Village was a huge success. A big thank-you to the following: Warren Local School Board for the use of the schools and grounds for our vendors and for the Christmas Parade line-up, our sponsors, vendors, retail merchants, and of course the many customers who passed through our area on that beautiful sunny 58 degree day.
At this time we would like to thank the Barlow Fair Board on joining us on their very first Christmas Fair 2012. I believe that it was a huge success and we look forward to working with them again next year. A new project for 2013 - A Walk To Remember
Residents who frequent the Barlow Fairgrounds will soon have the opportunity to enjoy an archway built in memory and/or honor of their loved ones.
A beautiful wrought iron memorial arch spanning 15 feet with eight foot tall columns is being erected at the entrance of the walking track at the Barlow Fairgrounds. This project is being organized and promoted by The Barlow Area Christmas in the Village.
The initial funding for the base of the arch was provided by a local business entrepreneur of the community. The entrepreneur has asked to remain anonymous at this time. The name will be revealed at the opening and dedication of the Arch.
All funds for the arch is being channeled through the Belpre Area Community Development Foundation. The foundation is a charitable organization , so therefore all funds and donations are tax deductible.
To enhance the memorial arch, the public is able to purchase engraved bricks which will be placed around each of the two columns. Each brick sells for $50.00 and can hold up to fourteen characters. The money from the brick purchases will go directly into the construction cost of the arch. We need to raise around $10,000 for the project and our goal is to sell 200 bricks. This is a way to show appreciation to our veterans, past and present as well as our loved ones, past and present. All bricks will be placed on the columns alphabetically.
Please fill in the three lines with required information for the Brick Also information from the purchaser will be required for the brick. Accurate records of all bricks purchased will be kept and no duplicate of names will be sold.
Checks should be made payable to: Belpre Area Community Development Foundation. In memo, please designate your brick name. Example brick/Susie Ashley
